somatic drawings, findings

i took an rx walk to montara beach with a shaman's effigy doll in mind

as i approached target location i picked up a few things along the way

i was carrying my camera and shoes too

when i arrived there was no hope of fashioning an effigy in a deeply conscious way -- too heavily burdened

so i threw or dropped things as intentionally as i could

a straw did not land upright -- it rolled away in the offshore breeze

the feather was planted last

i drew the outline of my body in the manner of anna halprin and allowed the materials to represent the rest, guts, sexuality, charcoal for possible negative energy nexus

of course the footprints are important too -- they show where the weight was carried

i found effigies made already that were similar made of kelp

this one has a head

then i found a huge agglomeration of kelp much as an effigy should be, rich, organic, vital -- its own story
finally i walked beyond a way, not far, then returned to see what the sea did
